Where to get good coffee in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm
After a trip to Pustevny or a walk through the open-air museum, you will want a proper cup of coffee. Rožnov pod Radhoštěm gives you a choice, but not every coffee is the same. Let me help you spot the good one and tell you where to enjoy it in peace.
How to spot a good coffee
Good coffee is not about the brand on the cup, but about what is inside and who prepares it. Watch for three things:
- Specialty beans. Good coffee comes from a specific farm or region and is gently roasted. It tastes sweet, fruity or chocolatey, not just bitter.
- Freshness. The beans should be recently roasted and the café should turn them over quickly. Old coffee loses its flavour.
- A barista who asks. When the staff helps you choose based on whether you prefer a lighter or a fuller coffee, you are in the right place.
When coffee needs a lot of sugar to be drinkable, something is usually off.
Where to enjoy specialty coffee with us
At the Anděl café we pour specialty coffee from the Czech QB roastery, one of the best known here. The offer changes with the season, so you always have a chance to try something new. We will prepare:
- Espresso as the base, short and balanced.
- Milk coffees – cappuccino, flat white, latte. If you do not drink cow’s milk, we have plant-based alternatives.
- Filter coffee, when you want to sip it slowly like tea.
If you are curious what specialty coffee actually means and why it tastes different from a machine, we have written a separate piece about it.
Coffee goes with cake
Good coffee deserves something sweet too. Our pastry chef Marcela bakes homemade cakes, including vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free options. Our gluten-free poppy-seed cake is a legend that people travel for.
And if you come with children, you will appreciate the largest kids corner in Rožnov. You enjoy your coffee in peace while the little ones play.
Where to find us
The café is a few minutes on foot from the open-air museum, so it is an easy stop on your way from the Wallachian Open Air Museum or before a trip into the mountains. We are open every day from 12:00 to 19:00 and no reservation is needed, just drop by.
If you plan to stay longer in the Beskydy Mountains, take a look at our rooms and book your stay with us. Breakfast is included, and morning coffee tastes best with a view of the hills. We look forward to seeing you.
