Specialty coffee from the QB roastery at our café in Rožnov

A cup of specialty coffee with latte art at the Anděl café in Rožnov

When you come to us for coffee, do not expect a drip machine from a petrol station. Here at Anděl we pour specialty coffee from the QB roastery, and there is quite a story behind it that we are happy to share over a cup.

What “specialty coffee” means

Specialty coffee is not a marketing word. It is coffee that has passed a strict evaluation and scored more than 80 points out of 100. It comes from a specific farm or region, not from an anonymous blend no one can trace.

You can tell the difference straight away:

  • Flavour, not bitterness. Well-roasted coffee has sweet, fruity or chocolatey notes. You do not have to drown it in sugar.
  • Freshness. QB roasts in small batches and we turn the coffee over quickly, so it reaches you a few days after roasting.
  • Traceability. With specialty coffee you know which country it comes from and who grew it.

Why QB

QB is one of the best-known Czech roasteries, and we feel close to it not only for its quality. It roasts honestly, seasonally and transparently. That suits us. The offer changes through the year depending on what is good at the time, so you can always look forward to a slightly different flavour here.

How we will prepare your coffee

We are not a barista laboratory, but we know what we are doing:

  1. Espresso as the basis of everything. Short, sweet, balanced.
  2. Milk-based coffees – cappuccino, flat white, latte. If you do not drink cow’s milk, we have plant-based alternatives.
  3. Filter coffee, when you want to savour your coffee like tea – slowly and at ease.

And do not be shy to ask. If you do not know what to have, we are happy to advise depending on whether you prefer your coffee lighter or fuller.

Cake goes with coffee

Specialty coffee deserves company. Our café is renowned for the homemade cakes baked by our pastry chef Marcela – including vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free versions. The gluten-free poppy-seed cake is legendary, and people travel from far away for it. It simply belongs with coffee.

If you come with children, you will appreciate the largest kids corner in Rožnov. You can have your coffee in peace while the children entertain themselves.

Drop in for a cup

The café is open every day from 12:00 to 19:00. You do not need to book, just come. And if you are planning to stay longer in the Beskydy, take a look at our rooms – breakfast is included, and morning coffee tastes best with a view of the mountains.

Have a question or want to arrange something? Write to us via the contact page. We look forward to seeing you.
