Anděl guesthouse or Hotel Bečva? An honest comparison
Anděl penzion & café
9.2/10 Booking · 4.8/5 Google
Guest rating · Booking.com, Google (461 reviews), TripAdvisor #1 guesthouse
In Rožnov, Hotel Bečva and Anděl guesthouse are easy to compare, but each plays to something different. Bečva is a three-star hotel near the station with a beer spa; Anděl is a family guesthouse with a café and a private sauna by the river. Here is how they differ, so you can choose more easily. I write about Anděl with a bias, I admit that, but the figures and facts about Bečva are left as they are publicly available.

Location: the station, or quiet by the river
This is where the difference shows most. Bečva stands about 300 m from the train and bus station, and you reach the centre in roughly 10 minutes on foot. If you arrive by train or bus and a car is not in the picture, it is a practical choice.
Anděl goes the other way. It sits quietly on the edge of town by the river, a few minutes on foot from the Wallachian Open-Air Museum. It is not two minutes from the platform, but you will sleep without the bustle of town and set out for the museum in the morning.
Wellness: a beer bath, or a private sauna
Bečva has a wellness area and hosts the Rožnov beer spa, so you can take a soak in a beer bath right in the building. That is an experience you will not find with us.
Our sauna is private; you book it just for yourselves, two to four people. Add a carafe of water, prosecco and bathrobes to borrow. No shared operation, just you and the quiet.
Guest ratings
Here the difference is in the sources. Anděl has 9.2/10 on Booking.com and 4.8/5 from 461 Google reviews, plus first place among Rožnov guesthouses on TripAdvisor. Bečva has 4/5 on TripAdvisor and 9.4/10 on TravelKing, but no consolidated Booking score is publicly captured. Bečva guests praise the staff and breakfast, though some mention cold rooms. The numbers are a guide and change over time.
Food and café
With us, breakfast is part of the stay and made from local ingredients. On the ground floor you will also find a café with specialty coffee and homemade cakes, including vegan and gluten-free. Bečva guests praise the breakfast too, but a large hotel will not give you its own café under one roof.
So which to choose
When you arrive without a car and want to be as close as possible to the station, or a beer bath right where you stay appeals to you, go to Bečva. When you are after a quiet, personal stay with a private sauna, good coffee and breakfast included, our choice is Anděl. Take a look at our rooms or go straight to the booking page, or browse the other comparisons.
Anděl is the better choice when…
- you want riverside quiet and a sauna just for yourselves
- you travel as a couple or with kids and love homemade cakes from the café
- you care about breakfast included and parking right at the door
- you like the personal touch of a small family guesthouse
The other place wins when…
- you want to be as close as possible to the train and bus station
- you travel without a car and care mostly about transport access
- a beer bath right where you sleep appeals to you
- you are a family, a group or travelling on a smaller budget
This is our guide, so we are not entirely impartial. We describe the other property neutrally from public sources (Booking.com, Google, TripAdvisor, as of 2026); Anděl's ratings are verifiable. Reviews and prices change over time, so treat them as a guide.
