New Year's Eve and New Year in the Beskydy Mountains: peace and sauna
New Year’s Eve in the Beskydy Mountains is all about peace and quiet. Instead of crowds on the square, the stillness of snowy scenery; instead of packed restaurants, a cosy café and a sauna just for you. If you want to welcome the new year without the rush, you have come to the right place.
Why celebrate the turn of the year in the Beskydy
- Peace without the crowds — no big-city crushes, just nature and a relaxed mood.
- Snowy scenery — at higher elevations there is often snow.
- Comfort at the guesthouse — the sauna, the café and a quiet room within reach.
- A New Year reset — a clear head and a walk in the mountains to start the year.
How to spend New Year’s Eve
Within 30 minutes’ drive of the guesthouse you can choose to suit your mood and the weather:
- Walks through snowy scenery — the forests above the town are quiet and magical in winter.
- Pustevny and Radhošť — the snowy ridge walk with the statue of Radegast and the views.
- The Bečva cycle path — a lovely walk through the valley along the river in winter too.
- The open-air museum in Rožnov — wooden Wallachia under a blanket of snow.
Bring warm clothing and sturdy shoes — in the mountains it tends to be a few degrees colder than in town.
A quiet New Year’s Eve evening
The turn of the year is the ideal time to slow down. After a walk through the frosty landscape, you can warm up in our private sauna — a Finnish sauna and a cooling pool for just 2–4 people. No sharing with strangers, just you and the peace and quiet before midnight.
And for a sweet finish, stop by Café Anděl — speciality coffee, hot chocolate and homemade cakes, including gluten-free and vegan options. The children can play in the meantime in the largest children’s corner in Rožnov. It is best to check the opening hours around the holidays in advance.
A New Year morning in the mountains
Start the new year as it should go on — in peace and outdoors. A New Year walk through snowy scenery clears the head better than any resolution. Set out for the ridges and the views, or simply through the quiet valley along the Bečva.
How to plan a New Year’s Eve stay
A tried-and-tested turn of the year with us looks like this:
- A New Year’s Eve morning walk through snowy scenery.
- A coffee and cake in the café in the afternoon.
- The private sauna in the evening and a peaceful welcome to the new year.
- A New Year morning in the mountains for the views.
You can choose from our rooms depending on whether you are travelling as a couple or with the family.
