Seasonal homemade cakes at the Anděl café in Rožnov
When you walk through the door of our café, the first thing that usually stops you is the display case of cakes. And no wonder – you will find something a little different in it every time. That is because our pastry chef Marcela bakes according to the season.
Why we change the cakes with the season
We could bake the same thing all year. But that would be no fun, and above all it would not taste as good. Seasonal ingredients are fresh, fragrant and meaningful. That is why the offer at our café changes through the year.
- Spring – lighter cakes, rhubarb, the first strawberries, citrus.
- Summer – seasonal fruit, raspberries, blueberries, light creams.
- Autumn – plums, pears, nuts, cinnamon, pumpkin.
- Winter – chocolate, nuts, apples, baking spices.
Something for everyone
Marcela bakes so that truly everyone can find something. Besides the classics, we have:
- vegan cakes without eggs and milk,
- gluten-free cakes for those who cannot have gluten,
- lactose-free versions for sensitive stomachs.
Our pride is the gluten-free poppy-seed cake, which has become famous far beyond Rožnov. People come specially for it and keep coming back. If you would like to know more about our gluten-free and vegan cakes, I have a separate piece about them.
We will bake a celebration cake to order
Have a birthday, a christening, or simply the urge to delight someone close to you? We will bake you a cake from our made-to-order menu. Just call +420 775 359 021 and we will agree on:
- the size and number of portions,
- the flavour and whether it should be gluten-free, vegan or classic,
- the pick-up date.
The sooner you get in touch, the better – especially before the holidays and during celebration season we get fully booked.
Drop in for a taste
The display case is ready every day from 11:00 to 20:00. With every cake we pour you specialty coffee from the QB roastery, so you leave happy. And if you are planning to stay overnight in the Beskydy, take a look at our rooms – in the morning, breakfast is included.

Why are the cakes seasonal?
We bake with what is best at the time. In summer we use fresh fruit, in autumn plums and pears, in winter nuts and chocolate. Seasonal ingredients simply taste better.

Every day from 11:00 to 20:00. Just come, and you will find the selection of cakes in the display case.
