Summer in the Beskydy Mountains: trips, swimming and cycling
Summer in the Beskydy Mountains is the time when you want to be outdoors from morning till night. The mountains smell of the forest, the Bečva river invites you out for a trip, and you can enjoy a hot afternoon on the terrace with a cake in hand. For families and couples alike, it is the ideal time for a stay with us.
Why come to the Beskydy in summer
- Long days — you can fit in a hike and an afternoon by the water.
- A cycle path right from the guesthouse — the Bečva starts 100 m from us.
- Varied trips — from demanding ridge walks to gentle strolls through the valley.
- The café terrace — the ideal place to round off the day.
Summer trips and hikes
Within 30 minutes’ drive of the guesthouse you can choose to suit your mood and the weather:
- Pustevny and Radhošť — the ridge walk with the statue of Radegast and views across the region.
- The Bečva cycle path — flat, paved, ideal with children too; it runs through the valley along the river.
- The Jurkovič Tower — a view of the green summer hills around Rožnov.
- The forests above the town — cool and quiet even on hot days.
In the heat, it is best to set out early in the morning while it is still pleasant in the forest.
Where to cool off in summer
When the mercury shoots up, it helps to know where to cool down:
- In Rožnov and around there are several swimming pools and natural bathing spots.
- The Bečva river has shallows where children can dip their feet.
- The forests above the town offer pleasant shade even in the heat.
We will gladly recommend where to go depending on the weather.
An afternoon on the café terrace
A hot summer afternoon belongs to the terrace. Take a seat with us at Café Anděl — waiting for you are speciality coffee, homemade lemonades and cakes, including gluten-free and vegan options. The children can play in the meantime in the largest children’s corner in Rožnov.
And in summer too, our private sauna is worthwhile — a Finnish sauna and a cooling pool for just 2–4 people. After a day on the bike or on a hike, it works wonders for tired legs.
How to plan a summer stay
A tried-and-tested summer day with us looks like this:
- A morning hike or bike trip while it is still cool.
- Lunch and the midday hours in the shade.
- Swimming or time on the terrace in the afternoon.
- The private sauna in the evening and a peaceful night in your room.
You can choose from our rooms depending on whether you are travelling as a couple or with the family.
