Spring in the Beskydy Mountains: nature in bloom and peace and quiet
Spring is the time when everything wakes up in the Beskydy Mountains. The last snow leaves the forests, the valleys around the Bečva burst into bloom, and the birds are up before we are. Tourists are still few, so you can enjoy both the trips and the peace and quiet to the full.
Why come to the Beskydy in spring
- Nature in bloom — the meadows and slopes gradually take on colour, and anemones and snowdrops bloom in the forests.
- Peace and fewer people — outside the main season you can enjoy the trails and parking in Rožnov at ease.
- Pleasant temperatures for walking — no summer heat, ideal for longer hikes.
- Nature waking up — the forest looks different every week, and it is a joy to watch.
Tips for spring trips
Within 30 minutes’ drive of the guesthouse you can choose to suit your mood and the weather:
- The Bečva cycle path — it starts 100 m from the guesthouse; in spring it runs through the valley beside blooming slopes, on foot or by bike.
- Pustevny and Radhošť — the ridge walk with the statue of Radegast, less crowded in spring than in summer.
- The Jurkovič Tower — a view of the greening hills around Rožnov.
- The forests above the town — quiet walks where you are more likely to meet a deer than a crowd.
Remember that higher in the mountains snow can lie longer and mornings tend to be frosty — bring layers.
Nature waking up
Spring in the Beskydy Mountains cannot be rushed. The valleys bloom first, while higher up the greenery wakes gradually. A few tips on how to enjoy it:
- Set out early in the morning — the forest is quietest and most full of birdsong.
- Watch the weather — after warm rain, nature changes from week to week.
- Walk considerately — do not pick protected plants, just photograph them.
On your return, we will gladly suggest where to walk tomorrow.
An afternoon on the café terrace
The first warm days belong to the terrace. When the sun comes out, take a seat with us at Café Anděl. Waiting for you are speciality coffee, homemade lemonades and homemade cakes — we also have gluten-free and vegan options, so there is something for everyone. The children can play in the meantime in the largest children’s corner in Rožnov.
And because spring mornings and evenings are still cold, our private sauna comes in handy — a Finnish sauna and a cooling pool for just 2–4 people. After a whole day on your feet, it is the perfect finishing touch.
How to plan a spring stay
A tried-and-tested spring day with us looks like this:
- A morning trip to see nature in bloom.
- Lunch in town and a short rest.
- A coffee and cake on the café terrace in the afternoon.
- The private sauna in the evening and a peaceful night in your room.
You can choose from our rooms depending on whether you are travelling as a couple or with the family.
Does a peaceful spring in the Beskydy Mountains appeal to you? Take a look at our rooms and book a stay — nature in bloom, coffee and the sauna will be waiting for you.
