Playgrounds and attractions for kids in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm are practically on your doorstep. Climbing frames in the parks and by the Bečva river are just a few minutes on foot, the cycle path starts 100 m from the guesthouse, the open-air museum will keep everyone busy for half a day, and in summer the water is a big draw. And if it rains, the children play in the cosy kids corner at our café.

Where to go in Rožnov for playgrounds and outdoor fun?

If you mainly want to let the kids run around, you do not have far to go from the guesthouse:

• Playgrounds in the town parks: climbing frames, swings and sandpits, mostly just a few minutes on foot from the centre.
• Green spaces by the Bečva river: flat ground for running around, ball games and picnics, with pleasant shade in summer.
• The Bečva cycle path starts 100 m from the guesthouse, it is flat and runs through the river valley. Ideal for a child’s first pedalling kilometres, a balance bike or a pushchair. More in our article about the Bečva cycle path.

You can wheel bikes and balance bikes straight out of the door and set off without having to drive anywhere first. The valley is flat, so even small legs can cover surprising distances.

Which attractions in Rožnov do children love most?

Rožnov revolves mainly around the open-air museum, but there is more fun for children to be found:

• The Wallachian Open-Air Museum (skanzen) is a few minutes on foot from the guesthouse. Living crafts, farm animals and a seasonal programme, children love the forge, the mill and the fairs.
• The aquapark is just a short distance from the guesthouse, an easy choice for a warm afternoon.
• Seasonal events in town, markets, festivals and children’s programmes, held mainly during the school holidays and public holidays.

What can children enjoy in Rožnov during a hot summer?

In the warm months, children are drawn to the water above all:

• Paddling in the Bečva: the shallows by the bank are a summer hit, bring wellies or a change of clothes.
• The aquapark, a short distance from the guesthouse, for a morning or afternoon cool-off.
• Swimming nearby, up to 30 minutes by car, if you want to venture further for the water.

Where to go with kids when it rains in the Beskydy?

The Beskydy weather has its moods, which is why we have a plan B right here. Our Anděl café has a cosy kids corner, dry, warm and right next to your table. We are open daily from 11:00 to 20:00, so the children play while you take your time over a specialty coffee and a homemade cake. We think of the whole family’s menu, and we also bake our cakes in vegan, gluten-free and lactose-free variants.

How do families stay with us?

After a day full of playgrounds and water, a good night’s sleep comes in handy. Families most often choose our Bukový room, the only one at the guesthouse with a separate bedroom, so the children can fall asleep while the parents get some peace and quiet.

• Children up to 4 years old without their own bed stay with us free of charge.
• An extra bed is 599 Kč per person per night, a cot is 100 Kč for the whole stay by arrangement, just note the number of children when you book.
• In the evening, once the children are asleep, parents can treat themselves to a private sauna, 1,000 Kč for 120 minutes for 2 to 4 people.
• Please note: dogs are unfortunately not allowed with us.

Practical tips for a trip with kids

• For the playground and the water, bring sunscreen, a hat and plenty to drink.
• A helmet is handy for little cyclists, and you will meet other families on the Bečva cycle path.
• Book your room in advance, especially during the school holidays, as we only have a limited number of family rooms out of our nine.
