Why a dog-free guesthouse is a relief for allergy sufferers

Allergy to animal hair is one of the most common allergies, and the trigger is rarely the hair itself. It is mostly allergens from saliva and dander that cling to fabrics even after cleaning. When no dog or cat has ever slept in a room, that problem simply doesn’t arise.

• We accommodate no animals at all. We are not able to host dogs, cats or other pets, no exceptions. That means no animal hair in the rooms or shared spaces.
• Just 9 rooms. We are not a big hotel with crowds of guests and long corridors. A smaller operation is easier to keep clean and orderly, which matters most for sensitive guests.
• Calm by the river, not by the road. Anděl sits in a quiet part of Rožnov by the river, a few minutes on foot from the open-air museum, away from the dust and exhaust fumes of the main road.

What we offer is a family guesthouse with no animals in sight and a real focus on cleanliness, which makes a big difference for plenty of allergy sufferers. Can you manage a gluten-free, lactose-free or vegan breakfast?

Yes. Allergies and intolerances often involve more than just animals, they involve food too, and here we can accommodate you. Our pastry chef Marcela bakes gluten-free, lactose-free and vegan, and her gluten-free poppy-seed cake is famous. Breakfast, which is always included for guests staying with us, is prepared around what you can and can’t eat.

There’s just one thing we ask: please let us know in advance when you book, so we have time to prepare the right ingredients and avoid cross-contamination. You can also try something sweet or savoury during the day at our café, where we bake cakes, including vegan and gluten-free ones, every day. Breakfast is for guests staying with us only, while the café is open to everyone from 11:00 to 20:00.

How much does a room cost and what’s included?

We have 9 rooms and the pricing is straightforward, always per room for two people per night, not per person:

The room price always includes a generous breakfast, free parking right at the guesthouse and Wi-Fi. The only thing added to the price is a city tax of 50 CZK per person per night. Children up to 4 years old without their own bed stay with us free of charge. • you need medically certified allergen-free rooms. That’s not what we are. We’re a family guesthouse that keeps things clean and has no animals.

What can you enjoy a few minutes from the open-air museum?

Even without animals, you won’t miss out on things to do. The Wallachian Open-Air Museum, the largest open-air museum in Central Europe, is just a few minutes on foot, and the centre of Rožnov isn’t far either. During the day you can head out to the sights or into the mountains, then come back in the evening to a calm place where nobody disturbs you.
