In Rožnov, Hotel Horal and Anděl guesthouse often come up in the same breath, but honestly they play in different leagues. Horal is a large wellness hotel with a sauna world; Anděl is a family guesthouse with a café and a private sauna. Here is how they differ, so you can choose more easily. I write about Anděl with a bias, I admit that, but the figures and facts about Horal are left as they are publicly available.

Wellness: privacy, or a big sauna world
This is where the difference shows most. Horal is built around an extensive sauna world with several saunas and an outdoor cooling pool. If you want to spend half a day in the sauna and do not mind meeting other guests, it is a great choice.
Anděl goes the other way. Our sauna is private; you book it just for yourselves, two to four people. Add a carafe of water, prosecco and bathrobes to borrow. No crowd, just you and the quiet. It is not a pool complex, and it does not try to be.

Horal sits around 8.9/10 on Booking.com. The numbers are a guide and change over time, but over the long run both places are rated well.
Food and café
With us, breakfast is part of the stay and made from local ingredients. On the ground floor you will also find a café with specialty coffee and homemade cakes, including vegan and gluten-free. That is something a large hotel will not offer, and for many guests it is the reason they come back.

When the main reason for the trip is a big wellness and you want to use the sauna alongside other people by an outdoor pool, go to Horal. When you are after a quiet, personal stay with a private sauna, good coffee and breakfast included, our choice is Anděl.
